Attested

I'm now officially Special Constable XXX of XXXXX Police. I got a groovy certificate that's on the wall in the living room with a transcript of my oath, signed by the kind justice of the peace that was sat at the front of the conference room that we had to read our oaths to.

I practiced and practiced it in my head and still managed to get it wrong - I said 'do' instead of 'to', and managed to somehow mess up saying 'constable'.

Week 1 training consisted of data protection, human rights, and learning how to use our PNB's. Next weekends training is stops and stop and search. Can't wait! :)

Can't believe how much paper we have already - I must have paper from 3 large oak tree's alone, and we've only had 1 day training so far!

New URL

Due to lack of suggestions from anyone apart from bawpc and Anonymous I'm gonna stick with brandnewbobby.blogspot.com for now. I was trying to think of something special like brandnewspecial that bawpc came up with, but I liked the alliteration (ooh, get me using big words) of brandnewbobby.



I'll keep my options open until the weekend and will appreciate all suggestions, but after I finish training and get attested I'll be posting my experiences of the day over on the other blog and won't be posting on this one apart from to reply to any comments.



I'm also going to start posting more regularly about things affecting policing such as UK's Cocaine Problem 'Worst In Europe' and Give addicts heroin, says officer.

Just got my final pack in the post from recruitment today with my collar number, training dates, attestation date and uniform fitting date.

Due to be attested next Saturday on my first training day - eek!

Medical

I've passed the medical, I'm officially in now. Did get told that my eyesight was borderline though, and by the time I get round to applying for the regulars it may have got worse and I may fail, so I should look at laser eye surgery. Yay, more expenses.

I start training next week! :)
